Our team

Our Vets consists of a team of competent, committed and experienced employees. Allow us to introduce them to you on this page.

Jeremy Voakes

Jeremy joined Archway in 1992 having qualified at Glasgow University. He liked the area, people and animals so much that he never left and is now the Senior Partner. Originally from a farming family in Yorkshire he has continued to enjoy working within the large animal sector, but in recent years has specialised more with the expanding companion animal side of the practice. He has a keen interest in Cardiology, Orthopaedics, inparticular treatment of cruciate ligament injuries and fracture repairs, and in a few more unusual areas such as Koi Carp and Birds of Prey! Over the last few years he has been the veterinary supervisor for the Grizedale forest Red Kite release programme.

Outside the practice Jeremy is best known for his family's famous Christmas Light Display in Cark-in-Cartmel which they do every year for charity and have so far raised over £10,000 for the NSPCC.

Andrew Wattam
Andrew joined the practice in 1998 after qualifying at Cambridge University Veterinary School. He has a keen interest in all aspects of equine health and medicine and gained his Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Equine Medicine in January 2015. He became a partner in 2016 and now manages the Equine side of the practice.
In his free
time Andrew runs in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside. He ran his first London Marathon in 2004 and has since run the Edinburgh Marathon twice, the Windermere Marathon three times and repeated the London Marathon in 2009. He can often be seen putting his running skills into practice when attending at the local Cartmel Race meetings during the Summer!
Jo Knox
Originally from near Cambridge, Jo trained in Liverpool, graduating in 2004.  Before joining the practice in 2005, she worked for a while in north Herts.  Jo has completed a course in Veterinary acupuncture and provides treatment for all species of animal, large or small.
Robbie Dwyer

Robbie joins the practice after completing an internship and ambulatory position at the Bendigo Equine Hospital in Australia. He has a special interest in equine reproduction and stud medicine.

In his free time he enjoys cricket, rugby, golf and hill walking!
