Portable Radiography + Ultrasonography + endoscopy
Mobile radiography allows on-yard assessment of joints, backs, teeth, and feet. All parts of our ambulatory machine are pre-charged, therefore no mains electricity is required, so any set up with firm standing is ideal. You can help us achieve the best quality images by having your horse well bruised and dry to minimise any artefact.
Initial interpretation is able to be done on-site, but acquisition of digital images allows discussion within our equine team to help solve trickier cases.
Our equine ambulatory scanner is a jack-of-all-trades: allowing our vets to assess reproductive tracts, eyes, chests, ligaments, tendons, and joint surfaces.
Most commonly our scanner is used to assess soft tissues during lameness investigation - meaning images can be saved and progress can be tracked accurately.
Reproductive scanning is of course critical for any successful breeding season.
Endoscopy allows us to visualise the upper respiratory tract - from tracheal scoping, to guttural pouch washes. Unfortunately this is a short scope - therefore is not able to diagnose ulcers via gastroscopy/ assessment of the stomach. However, we are always happy to refer clients to facilitate this diagnosis.
